A.V.A Electrical wins the 2005 " Energy Efficieny Campaign" award

A.V.A Electrical last month won the Best Energy Efficiency Campaign catagory at the prestigious Independant Marketing Awards at The Forest of Arden Hotel near Coventry

This is the first year an energy efficiency award has been celebrated and the Energy Saving Trust, sponsors of the award were impressed by the number of nominees.

Frances Galvanoni,Trade Marketing Manager at Energy Saving Trust (EST)said: "We were delighted to be involved with this years awards and appreciate the role independant retailers play in delivering energy efficient products to consumers. It is really encouraging to see so many independant retailers driving consumer demand and promoting and stocking a wide range of energy efficient goods."

The Judges were particularly impressed with Scott Eltringham,Director of A.V.A Electrical,a small independant electrical retailer based in Norfolk. They singled him out for his commitment to promoting and encouraging energy effiecency within his store. His campaign included making energy effiecency a key part of all his sales and marketing activity, including educating all employees on the benefits of energy efficient products and making this a key part of their sales tool. A.V.A Electrical also place a priority on keeping up to speed on product developments, ensuring their stores stocks the latest in eco friendly appliances as well as working with Local MP`s on wider issues such as recycling commercial waste.

Now that A.V.A has signed up to EST`S Energy Efficiency Recommended Scheme, which was recently opened up to Independant Electrical Retailers they are now able to clearly promote energy effiecency to their customers through displaying the Energy Efficiency Recommended (EER) logo.

Frances added:" Since EST launched the EER logo in 2000 retailers have been able to clearly label and promote energy efficient products to there customers. This has significantly helped increase the sales of these goods with eight out of ten consumers reporting that they look out for the label when purchasing new products. Clear advertising and informed sales staff will drive consumer demand and in turn help reduce the energy used in our homes."
